General Membership Meeting: Costa Rica: A Family Adventure Through the Lens of a Nature Photographer

Speaker Bio: Miranda Crawford currently serves as our Social Media Coordinator.

Summary: In February 2026, Miranda and her family traveled to Costa Rica for a family vacation. Although the trip wasn’t planned as a dedicated birding trip, she couldn’t resist bringing her camera and taking advantage of every opportunity to photograph the incredible birds they encountered along the way. She particularly loved photographing in Costa Rica because of the incredible color found everywhere- from the birds themselves to the lush landscapes and vibrant tropical surroundings. The abundance of color made the country an especially exciting place to photograph.

In this presentation, Miranda will share some of her favorite photographs from the trip, along with stories from their family adventure and the experience of discovering Costa Rica through the lens of a nature photographer.
