July Field Trip: Markagunt Plateau (near Cedar Breaks)

Location: High elevation birding at the Markagunt Plateau (near Cedar Breaks)

About: Spend the day in cooler temperatures looking for high elevation birds and enjoying the wildflower bloom on the Markagunt Plateau near Cedar Breaks. Possible birds include Clark’s Nutcracker, Mountain Bluebird, Red Crossbill, Warbling Vireo, flycatchers, woodpeckers and sapsuckers among others. Bring your binoculars (scope optional), plenty of water and snacks, and good hiking shoes as we will be walking on trails. We will be at 9,600' elevation so temperatures will be pleasant, but be ready for higher sun exposure (hats, sunscreen, water, etc).
