Speaker: Lura Snow, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, Habitat Conservation Plan Outreach Coordinator and and Mike Schijf, Red Cliffs Desert Preserve Biologist

Join us as we learn about the history of the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve and the Washington County Habitat Conservation Plan including:

  • The long term effects we are seeing after the fires in the Reserve last summer

  • Recreational opportunities available in the Reserve

  • The do’s and don’ts of spotting a tortoise while in the Reserve, or in your community

  • Tortoise life cycle and desert adaptations

In addition, Mike Schijf (a prolific birder) will also be discussing the birds found in the reserve.

We are excited for our new meeting location which will provide us a lot more room and more convenient parking. If you arrive before 7:00pm you can use the main library doors, otherwise follow the signs to the side door.
